At the official team presentation in Brest, the entire Alpecin-Fenix team will be wearing the jersey colours that his French grandfather once wore in the Tour de France. They want to pay respect to Poupou. In the 2023 Tour de France, stage 9 starts in Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, where Poulidor and his family lived. The stage will be taking the peloton to the iconic Puy de Dôme where - back in 1964 - Poulidor and Jacques Anquetil put down a legendary side-by-side battle, with the overall Tour de France victory as stake.
