In memory of Raymond Poulidor, Mathieu van der Poel and the Alpecin-Deceuninck riders during stage 9 of the 2023 Tour de France will wear the Alpecin-Deceuninck kit, having a special reference to the ‘Merci Poupou’ stage and tributing Raymond Poulidor.

On the rest day, Mathieu van der Poel and the Alpecin-Deceuninck riders will go out for training in a new design version of the ‘Merci Poupou jersey’ from 2021, in the iconic Mercier colours.

The items worn by the riders during these 2 occasions will be signed and auctioned for charity, together with some other race- and training worn items.

Next to the auction, the replica of this new ‘Merci Poupou’ jersey will be available for general purchase. This limited edition is only available here and with every purchase you support the Merci Poupou fund, just as in 2021.

Also, a limited-edition casual t-shirt have been created for the 2023 Merci Poupou campaign. Profits are going to charity too.

Next generation:

Proceeds of the Merci Poupou project will be donated to initiatives and charities supporting children and adolescents from different backgrounds and living conditions practicing sports, staying active or rehabilitating.

His generosity lay elsewhere, in his attitude toward fans, who were touched by his natural simplicity, who were drawn to him all the more because he seemed to understand the trials and tribulations of the average French person.
